About Me

Joanne A Bailey, LCSW-R, ACSW is an accomplished psychotherapist, program developer, mental health consultant, and medical Social Worker with combined 16 years of experience. Joanne has a private practice, in Brooklyn, New York where she specializes in Christian counseling for children, individuals, couples and families. Joanne's approach is to help raise her client's self awareness about their talents, abilities, and gifts, and how they can exercise faith to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Joanne uses a diverse set of counseling methods that support the whole person. She recognizes that her clients require solutions that meet their needs as biological, psychological, sociological and spiritual entities.

Joanne incorporates a set of overarching principles into her work that allows her to build effective relationships with her clients. Some of these principles include:

Conducting a comprehensive assessment and offering the personalized tools they can use to address issues of the spirit soul, mind, and body. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

Merge sound therapeutic models with biblical instruction that enable individuals to examine their perceptions and restructure their mindset and behaviors to lead healthy and psychologically sound lives. Support the advancement of each client by helping them comprehend that they are empowered to make choices, take appropriate risks, and identify options that allow them to reach their fullest potential.

Moreover, Joanne is aware that spiritual, emotional and psychological maturity comes as a result of patient's involvement, counselor and the Holy spirit. She commits herself to creating a space, a container of sorts, where each individual may achieve their goals in an emotionally safe, calm, caring, and confidential environment.

Joanne is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New York, a member of the National Association of Social Workers-NYC, and NASW Academies of Social Work, New York. The American Association of Christian Counselors, and a Volunteer with the NYC Medical Reserve Corps affiliated with OMH Disaster Preparedness and Response.

Joanne held roles at non profit, social service, and for profit settings. Joanne served, as Supervisor in Field Instruction (SIFI), Administrative Supervisor in the Absence of Supervisor, and a Senior Social Worker at Jewish Board of Family And Children's Services Inc .She's also functioned as Supervisor in Field Instruction (SIFI) at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center.

Joanne is the Founder and past Director of "SVG I Care Prayer and Counseling Center" in St. Vincent West Indies, a Faith based evidenced program to help people who were encountering social emotional, psychological and spiritual problems.

Joanne's services as a faith Based volunteer includes serving in the Christian Education Department, Curriculum coordinator. Resource Center Coordinator, Joanne also served as volunteer for Over (6) six years as Director of The Young Women's Missionary Council, at Calvary Pentecostal Church Inc./Calvary Cathedral of Praise Inc. She developed and implemented programs which included Retreats, Book Clubs, Concerts, Health Care Workshops, Conferences, Prayer Breakfasts, Prayer cells, Hospital Visitation Outreach programs, Counseling, Referrals and recommendations were made as needed. Ages ranged from 21-60. Joanne remains passionate about serving others, and remains an active member at Calvary Cathedral of Praise, in Brooklyn, New York.
